Fiberglass Roll & Batt Blanket Insulation
Blanket insulation is relatively inexpensive and is ideal for unfinished walls (including foundation walls), floors and ceilings. It is fitted between studs, joists and beams and is particularly suitable for stud and joist spacing that is relatively free from obstructions.
Rigid Foam Board Insulation
Foam board can be used for unfinished walls (including foundation walls), floors, ceilings and unvented low-slope roofs. When used inside, it must be covered with 1/2-inch gypsum board or other building-code approved material for fire safety and when used on the exterior of a property, it must be covered with weatherproof facing. Foam board has a high insulating value for relatively little thickness and can block thermal short circuits when installed continuously over frames or joists.
Cellulose & Fiberglass Loose Fill or Blown In Insulation
Loose fill insulation can be used in enclosed existing walls or open new wall cavities, unfinished attic floors and other hard to reach places Ideally, it is blown into place using special equipment and is good for adding insulation to existing finished areas, irregularly shaped spaces, and around obstructions.
Foil Faced Insulation
Reflective, foil-faced insulation is used in unfinished walls, ceilings and floors. It is fitted between wood-frame studs, joists, rafters and beams and is suitable for framing at standard spacing. It is most effective at preventing downward heat flow but the effectiveness depends on spacing and number of foils.
Rigid Fiber Insulation
Rigid fiberglass insulation is well suited in places that require insulation to withstand high temperatures.
Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation is ideal for enclosed existing walls and open new wall cavities as well as unfinished attic floors. It is applied using small spray containers or in larger quantities as a pressure sprayed (foamed-in-place) product. Spray foam is good for adding insulation to existing finished areas, irregularly shaped areas, and around obstructions.
